Week Three: Applying the skills
How do I apply my new found skills?
Having the skills that can make you a world class sportsperson does not help, if you don’t get out on the field and apply it. Simply learning the skills and talking about it, won’t win any matches.
You have to go out there and do it!
Many learners fail to apply the learning skills that they have acquired over the years because they don’t know how. It’s like playing a soccer game on your computer. You learn everything there is to know about playing soccer. In the game you can be the best defender, striker or midfielder. You can even be a world class goalie!
Yet, in a real match, you may not perform in any of the positions mentioned.
The same goes for learning.
You have to apply your skills
This week, we show you how to apply your skills using our study methods. Our study methods integrate the skills that you’ve learned last week.
By applying the reading skills, the note taking skills and the memory skills you’ve learned in a structured, repeatable way, you will truly learn how to learn.
Once you’ve learned how to learn, what you learn is up to you. You can apply these skills in any field for the rest of your life.
You may even begin to subscribe to a philosophy of lifelong learning and contnously grow your knowledge, skills and attitude in everything that you do.
